TAINA releases OCR 2.0

We are thrilled to announce the launch of OCR 2.0. It aims to speed up the validation of scanned forms.

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. Our latest algorithms now digitize handwritten tax forms more accurately.

How does TAINA's OCR work?

To use, upload a PDF of a physical tax form to TAINA's Scanned Form module. Our OCR will read it and convert the tax forms to digital data. Our OCR 2.0 update improves checkbox reading and expands foreign language recognition.

After digitization, the platform checks the data against books and records. It then runs a validation through our compliance rules engine.

Any text that does not match expected results is highlighted with "Did you mean?" options that likely match based on existing and public records.

Benefits of OCR Technology for Tax Operations

  • Use our Scanned Forms module and built-in OCR. They will improve the efficiency and reliability of your validation and remediation.

  • Use OCR algorithms to validate scanned and paper forms. They will convert the physical images into a readable digital format. Then, run validation rules with no manual work.

  • Increase turnaround times by processing scanned forms received via email, post, or fax. Validate them instantly.

  • Use our platform's side-by-side view to review and fix issues. It shows the original and digitized forms. Also, upload supporting documents.

If you are already a TAINA client and interested in enabling this updated version of our OCR in your TAINA instance, please  reach out  to your account manager.
